Bengals have a reputation for being fairly "talkative" and making a variety of unusual noises . When he wants food Loki makes a sort of screech that sounds a bit like a red-tailed hawk screech (the clichéd sound that's often used in films when there's a shot high up in mountains or canyons).
Awww, sorry to hear of your loss. I had an Abyssinian pass away due to illness in August and it was too quiet without him, which is why I got a couple of kittens.
Loki is pretty vocal and he does have a lovely range of noises - I'd read about the variety of Bengal noises and he's made quite a few of the different ones . My dear departed Abyssinian was quite vocal and loud, so I'm used to talkative cats (one reason I went for another Aby and also a Bengal is because I loved the interactive nature of my Aby). Also my older female cat, Misty, is quite vocal as well at times and has developed some strange noises of her own. The new Aby kitten is also quite chatty - he has a lovely chirrup when he's in a playful mood.
