He looks absolutely frightening and fearless, an apex predator. Then again, all Abys are ruthless. My one is very affectionate when he's hungry. After eating, he doesn't even acknowledge me. Worse, he mocks me. My revenge...I give him a hug. Abys hate that.

He does look mean in that photo, but he's actually a bit of a wuss. He's certainly very capable of being relentless though. Simba's very demanding of affection, and not just when he wants food - lots of butting me with his head and kneading. In fact when he wants food or to go outside he's more inclined to relentlessly wail at me rather than be affectionate - he can be really rather loud!

Simba's become tolerant of hugs (at least from me - my other half doesn't have so much luck!). My other cat has a tendency to turn into The Eviscerator if I try pick her up (she likes affection only on her terms).

My neighbours probably think I'm a bit potty when they see me sitting/crouching or lying on the front path or front garden

. I much prefer to get level with a cat to photograph it, but it can be murder on the knees!
