Loki 20140425-1 by FurLined Loki 20140425-1 by FurLined
Loki is now 9 months old (he's a Bengal). Since his neutering a couple of months ago I've started talking him out on a leash - he took to the walking jacket and leash straight away :).

Here he's keeping close watch on a couple of large dogs being walked on the nearby path.

Wow... he is beautiful... and I did not know they have jackets like that for cats! I tired to put a harness on my cat and I cant get it on her right. For one, she is so excited to get outside she wont hold still. And its really hard to adjust those things.
So I end up using a break away collar and leash. Breakaway because he she gets away I don't want her hanging herself on something before I catch her. But if something spooks her while I am walking her around my yard and she pulls, I know the collar will break. So between the fence and the very long leash... I figure if something spooks her and she pulls, I will let go and when she gets to the fence I will grab her before she gets over it. So I only take her out during quiet times of the day and for short periods of time. With one of these it would be some much better and a lot safer.
Did you get it at a pet store?

This jacket is from Mynwood:

They're made to measure based on neck and chest measurements you provide plus the cat breed and age (to help with judging the length). Oh and there's plenty of choice of fabrics :). They use long strips of velcro to fasten, so are secure but very adjustable and easy. Mynwood do international shipping, so it's not a problem that you're overseas!

Loki's pretty good about having it put on. He's a little excitable so he doesn't always come to me when I hold the jacket, but if I grab him and kneel over him he stays still while I put the neck strap on, but he tends to try get going while I'm sorting out the chest one! I've found that if I put two fingers under the strap while I'm fitting it then I can get it about right for tightness :).

thanks for answering me and so quickly. The price looks decent too. Yes Snowy my siamese mix is a lot excitable... the rest of the family thinks she takes after me lol. But this seems like something I could put on her. I could not get the harness ones on any of my cats, even the most calm.

Sooo gorgeous still! Glad he took to the leash and harness well, some cats just do! And others, as you know, turn into fur-covered bricks. Sigh!

He's stunning!! I love how his fur has deepened over the last few months - makes him look wilder!

Theo doesn't like walking outside like his brother, I take it? ;)

Theo was a little bit inquisitive about the outside at first, but very nervous, so I didn't think there was any risk of him running off if I leave the door open while I take Loki out. He came down to peer out of the door a couple of times but now he just sits at the top of the stairs and makes his concerned/alarmed noise for a little while and stays out of sight. Perhaps he'll chill out with age, but for the moment taking Theo out for a walk is a non-starter!
