Theo's turning out to be an oddball already . One of his strange habits is that he'll happily eat all sorts of things. He seems to enjoy tomato slices (and will growl while eating one if my other kitten comes to investigate), loves melon, if I'm not careful he will start to nick bits of muesli out of my bowl before I've put milk on it, etc etc.
Is your Aby a fidget at night? When I go to bed Theo will take ages to settle down - he'll curl up purring but only stay in any one position for about 2 minutes before moving, often nose-butting me in a friendly way in the process. He's like that first thing in the morning as well! I seem to remember my previous Aby, Simba, was like that too when he was younger.
Yeeeesss, my Vash is SUCH a little fidgety monster! Especially when he's happy/being petting, he'll settle down for about 30 seconds before he's UP and kneading on everything in sight. He used to be worse when he was younger, too. Whenever he does manage to get comfy enough for a nap, though, he sleeps like a little dragon, snoring and dead to the world!
Vash is EXTREMELY picky though. He won't even eat a piece of burger if it has ketchup or bread on it!! He also gets problems with his sinuses, causing lots of sneezes and snot and runny eyes, and occasionally ear infections. Certainly not the healthiest kitty ever, poor thing.
But he is increeeedibly sweet, towards everyone who walks in the house. The little beastie will waltz right up to strangers AND their dogs, rub on them, yowl at them for pets, and hop on their laps (whether they want him to or not).
Well he's 8 months old so his growth rate has eased off a bit - I think he's 4.3kg at the moment. He's smaller than my other 8 month old kitten, a Bengal . My previous Aby reached 6kg when his weight settled, but I can't remember at what age he stopped growing!
When I encountered my first Aby I knew I'd have to get one once I had a place of my own, and several years later I did so . They do look stunning and have fantastic personalities. Theo's now my second Abyssinian (my other passed away aged 13 last year and I had to get another).
I first saw the breed on a tv show I was watching. I fell in love with the personality and decided to look them up on the computer. That's when I came across few pictures of blue abys. Well, actually they are more of a grayish colour... Either way I thought they were absolutely gorgeous!
13 years, eh? That's a pretty good age for a cat. :3
